First day:

Description of the Tour 5 days and 4 nights in Cusco, Sacred Valley, Machu Picchu, Rainbow Mountain - Vinicunca

FIRST DAY.- RECEPTION AND TOUR TO THE CITY OF CUSCO

Upon arrival at the airport, we will be waiting for you carrying a sign with your name to transfer you to the selected hotel. Upon arrival at the hotel you can taste the famous coca tea. This plant has properties that will help your body against altitude sickness. Then, you can rest and acclimatize a bit at the hotel or if you want to go for a gentle walk through the main streets of the city. At around 1:00 p.m., we will pick you up from the hotel to start the tour to the city of Cusco and its surroundings. This excursion includes a visit to the Plaza de Armas, the Cathedral of Cusco, the Church of Santo Domingo, the Temple of Qoricancha and the nearby ruins of Q’enqo, Puka Pukara, Tambomachay and the Sacsayhuaman fortress, ending at approximately 7:00 p.m.

SECOND DAY: TOUR TO THE SACRED VALLEY OF THE INCAS

We will pick you up between 8:00 a.m. and 8:20 a.m. to start the tour, making a stop at the Corao natural viewpoint, where the guide will give an introduction to the Sacred Valley. Enjoying this beautiful landscape, the first place to visit will be the Traditional Inca Market of Pisaq. Here you can do some shopping for souvenirs or handicrafts and then go up to the Archaeological Center of Pisaq, where after a short walk you will reach the main Inca sites. Continuing with the trip, they will go to the city of Urubamba to an exclusive restaurant, where they will taste the local gastronomy. The fortress and citadel of Ollantaytambo will be our stop in the afternoon. Finally we will go to the Ollantaytambo train station, to board the train at 4:30 p.m. to Aguas Calientes, arriving at approximately 6:10 p.m. We will spend the night at the selected hotel in Aguas Calientes (Machu Picchu Pueblo).

THIRD DAY: TOUR TO MACHU PICCHU "THE LOST CITY OF THE INCAS"

After breakfast in the early hours of the day, we will go up to the Inca citadel of Machu Picchu, followed by an excursion with a guided service for approximately 2 hours through the citadel. On the tour you will visit the most important places in this city such as: the Main Square, the Circular Tower, the Sacred Solar Clock, The Royal Rooms, the Temple of the Three Windows and The Cemeteries. After the tour of the citadel of Machu Picchu, optionally you can do the trekking to the summit of Huaynapicchu or Mountain Sector, this will take a few hours between round trips (this visit is without a guided service). Then we will go down by bus to Aguas Calientes and in the afternoon we will take the train back to Ollantaytambo, where our staff will be waiting to carry out the transfer and transportation by bus to the city of Cusco and take you to your hotel.

FOURTH DAY: TOUR TO THE RAINBOW MOUNTAIN VINICUNCA

Very early in the morning at 4:00 a.m., we will pass by your hotel in our private tourist transport, to move along the route to the south of the city of Cusipata -Paucarpata. The tour will last approximately 2 hours, where we will enjoy a delicious buffet breakfast (scrambled eggs, cheese, ham, fruit salad, hot drinks, etc.). We will continue for about 40 minutes to the control point, it is where we will start the walk there. Once you reach this point, our guide will give you the instructions and recommendations for the route along with the last steps to finally start. The walk will last approximately 1 hour and 20 minutes until reaching Vinicunca or Montaña de Colores at 5020 masl. On the way we will observe the fauna and flora of the area, highlighting the llamas and alpacas that are in the care of shepherds, dressed in beautiful typical costumes of the region. Then passing through beautiful ravines heading to the highest parts, surrounded by snowy peaks (Ausangate). Almost upon reaching the top we will observe the change of the landscape, the colored mountain range – Vinicunca (5020 m/16,466 ft.). Arriving at this point between 10:30 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. Here our guide will explain in detail about the orography, ecosystem and color of the mountain, and then take the most beautiful photos with the Rainbow Mountain. We will be able to see the beautiful landscape from 5080 meters above sea level, after that we will take the return route through the Red Valley viewpoint (red mountains). After walking through this ecosystem considered an Andean desert, we will then go to another point in Vinicunca for the photos, then we will return to Llaqto, where our vehicle will be waiting. Afterwards we will have a delicious buffet lunch with a great variety of Novo – Andean food. Then we will return to the city of Cusco, arriving at approximately 5:00 p.m.

Fifth day: Farewell and air travel from Cusco to Lima

Immediately after having breakfast, we will go to the airport of the city of Cusco, which is a few minutes from the historic center. To avoid any complications, we must be there at least one hour before and make the arrangements for flight confirmation, Check – in at the airline and pay the airport tax. We will say goodbye very gratefully and you will take the flight from the imperial city of Cusco to the capital of Peru, Lima.
